| Klargester Domestic Sewage Plant Awaiting Installation. |
|---|
This picture gives some idea of the size of the smallest domestic sewage plant. It is quite ovepowering seen from this perspective. After the installation, when all is tidied away and the unit is working, all that remains visible is the lid which gives access for maintenance and de-sludging. The installation of this type of plant normally takes about a week from start to finish. |
| A Newly Installed Klargester Domestic Plant. |

This unit was installed in an old rockery in a corner of the garden. It was soon to be hidden behind a row of shrubs. Positioning of the sewage plant is important. It must be within about 30 metres of hardstanding where the desludging tanker can park. It is also important to remember that shrubs can grow very quickly so a reasonable margin should be left for access to the plant for service and maintenance without resorting to the use of a machete. |
| A Klargester Plant one Month after Installation. |
|---|
This shows a Klargester treatment plant which was installed one month earlier. The lawn has grown back, and the shrubbery has been re-planted. I.H.S. Systems installed the sewage plant on a sloping bank so it was not visible from the house. The colour of the lid reduced the visual impact from close quarters. This particular unit discharges treated effluent directly into the adjacent brook, but in locations where the receiving watercourse is further away a treatment unit is available with a built-in pump. |
